Rob Andres

Executive Vice President of Ballistics

Rob Andres was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and was raised in Gardner, Massachusetts.  He attended and graduated from Gardner High School and upon graduation, entered into the New Hampshire Army National Guard, attended Basic training / AIT at Fort Sill Oklahoma and trained as a Field Artillery Crewman.  During his time in the National Guard, he attended Mount Wachusett Community College and graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Electronic Engineering. 

After graduation, Rob decided to enter full time into the United States Army changing his occupational skill and retrained as a Bomb Technician (EOD) at the prestigious Naval School Explosive Ordinance Disposal at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.  He served during Operation Desert Storm with the 3rd Armor division based out of Friedberg, Germany and in 1993 was reassigned to the 101st Airborne division out of Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Prior to leaving the Military, Rob interviewed at and accepted a position at Owen Oil Tools in Godley, Texas to begin his civilian career where he had the privilege of working under the owner and founder of the company, Harrold D. Owen.  While at Owen, Rob served in many roles as a Ballistics Engineer.  These roles included Explosive Disposal Operations, Research & Development, Testing, Technical Services, and Pipe Recovery Manager. 

In 1999, Mr. Andres accepted the position as Vice President of Diamondback Industries in Crowley, Texas and helped build the foundation of the company from the ground up.  During his long tenure at Diamondback, Rob has obtained seven US Patents and one Provisional Patent, a Global Credential as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the University of Villanova, Chemical Security Certification by DHS, Blasters Training Certification by ISEE, HAZWOPER Certification by IACET, and CFR49 & IATA Certifications by the Dangerous Goods Counsel.  Mr. Andres has been an active member of the Society of Explosives Engineers (SEE) since 1998, and the Institute of Makers of Explosives (IME) since 1996.  He has a solid 32 years’ experience working with and handling explosives, and 27 years’ experience working with the completions side of the Oil and Natural Gas sector.
